Three golden rules of PLG that Founders ignore (to their detriment) 1) You need 10X marketing to drive traffic to your product. This comes from building out a proper GTM Strategy that makes your ICP aware of your product. 2) Your PLG conversion should make you net profitable of your CAC on your front end. Thinking in terms of "front end" and "back end" is one of the most classic principles of business. It's doubly true in PLG SaaS companies. 3) Your back end should grow and retain that revenue. This is where a real sales team and customer success team comes in. You'll want to enable them to drive upsells, crosssells, expansions and success. This is where the real money is made. If you're an early stage Founder working to drive product led growth, you likely need a scalable GTM Strategy. To learn how, grab a complimentary copy of my 5-Point SaaS Growth Strategy Guide. Absolutely! And aim for negative churn - the SaaS nirvana! The self-serve model brings the moolah when marketed to the masses and these marketing activities should begin well before getting into the sale mode. PLG in itself is a GTM strategy and backfires heavily when not executed well. The points where the execution is missed - are those that you’ve listed.
